[Well, as some of you might recall, Haruki Suzumiya has been MIA for the better part of this whole affair so far. But now, finally, he's made a full recovery. A full recovery and... he's gone back to his house to confirm that things have recovered. He's inspecting it inside and out so you might happen across him during that, particularly if you're Neku or Shiki.

But aside from that, after he's half-way through this inspection he flips open the journal and-]

Oi, guys, I'm back. [...It's useless to say "did he miss anything" right? Just glancing at the entries while he was out shows he did] So everyone report in.

[Because we wants to make sure everyone's okay]

[Haruki looks dully at the board. Really, in light of that bombshell he didn't think about... well. He moves his own pawn in the same row up two as well.]

...Well. I left off with her vanishing from here, right?

Right.

[First a frown... and then he sighs before pinching his nose a little with his hand. God this is so hard. ...Finally he settles for just glaring down at the chessboard, focusing away from Winry at large before he starts talking]

...Well. Like I said, she vanished. I was really upset, I guess. Ignored a bunch of people, didn't want to hear about other people's problems, you know that sort of thing. Eventually, ...well I guess I didn't snap out of it so much as drifted. This other girl - the one I live with now, Shiki? She was also hurting; lost her boyfriend, you know. ...We moved in together.

That's not the end, is it?

...Nah, not really. [And he, screwing the rules, picks up his own king piece. He begins to roll this in his hand. He sighs and shakes his head]

It was weird, you know. Really weird. We... kissed. Some other stuff, but nothing big... I guess. Her boyfriend showed up again before anything too serious happened. But I... fell for her. A little. I think. Maybe.

[He's still confused about that himself, he never even got closure] In the midst of that though, there was also Rena... Well. I dunno if you ever met her; she used to live here, used to be my vice-chief... I think I might have liked her. ...Maybe. But she's gone too.

That... must have been really hard for you.

I... guess. I stopped thinking about it after a while. I mean, other things happened too- Uriko asked me out, sorta. I rejected her. And then there was that thing with Usagi... well I guess I always kinda liked her. But I doubt it was romantic ever. But well...

[...] This last February I kinda. [...] Made a mistake.

[Hie voice dropped down to utter shame at that point. Down to a whisper]

A mistake?

[Yeah. He... hangs his head blushing furiously and perhaps looking more ashamed than Winry's probably ever seen him. He looks like, given the chance he would make a truly sincere apology and even then still worry. That sort of sorry]

...Yeah. A big one.

I won't judge you, if you tell me. Everyone makes mistakes.

[...He hides his face in his hands and into his hands he mutters-] I had sex with a girl named Chikane.

Ah-

During... Dragobete. It was- [Still muttering into his hands. He's mortified to even say this] I tried to... fix it. But then she went home... too.

That... couldn't have been your fault, though. A-and at least she won't remember it? I mean-

Shut up. [That probably was said louder than it should have been.]

[...But then he sighs. He brings his hands down and looks her straight in the eye]

...It doesn't matter if she remembers or not, I remember. It was... a mistake, but it's my mistake. Making excuses is... [...] Just not cool for that sort of thing.

[...And now, looking off to the side...]

...I just wanted you to know all that. That's all.

[...And finally, he sets his king back down again. He smiles a little to himself too] 'Course, that's nothing to the secrets most people have here, huh? Just a line of little problems and such.

[And then he shakes his head] Still your move.

Is there anymore you would like to know?

[He's putting on a strong face. He's putting on such one- he knows it probably isn't perfect but what're you gunna do? He moves another piece without really looking at it and sighs]

...Well. [...He could- no. No. Not now.] ...Nah. What about you for me?

Before you came here, did you have a goal? Or should I say-

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to find aliens, time travelers, espers, and sliders and hang out with all of them.

[And he's completely serious]

No ideal job, or... ?
