[Well, as some of you might recall, Haruki Suzumiya has been MIA for the better part of this whole affair so far. But now, finally, he's made a full recovery. A full recovery and... he's gone back to his house to confirm that things have recovered. He's inspecting it inside and out so you might happen across him during that, particularly if you're Neku or Shiki.

But aside from that, after he's half-way through this inspection he flips open the journal and-]

Oi, guys, I'm back. [...It's useless to say "did he miss anything" right? Just glancing at the entries while he was out shows he did] So everyone report in.

[Because we wants to make sure everyone's okay]

During... Dragobete. It was- [Still muttering into his hands. He's mortified to even say this] I tried to... fix it. But then she went home... too.

That... couldn't have been your fault, though. A-and at least she won't remember it? I mean-

Shut up. [That probably was said louder than it should have been.]

[...But then he sighs. He brings his hands down and looks her straight in the eye]

...It doesn't matter if she remembers or not, I remember. It was... a mistake, but it's my mistake. Making excuses is... [...] Just not cool for that sort of thing.

[...And now, looking off to the side...]

...I just wanted you to know all that. That's all.

[...And finally, he sets his king back down again. He smiles a little to himself too] 'Course, that's nothing to the secrets most people have here, huh? Just a line of little problems and such.

[And then he shakes his head] Still your move.

Is there anymore you would like to know?

[He's putting on a strong face. He's putting on such one- he knows it probably isn't perfect but what're you gunna do? He moves another piece without really looking at it and sighs]

...Well. [...He could- no. No. Not now.] ...Nah. What about you for me?

Before you came here, did you have a goal? Or should I say-

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to find aliens, time travelers, espers, and sliders and hang out with all of them.

[And he's completely serious]

No ideal job, or... ?

Not really. I mean, I am- [...He turned eighteen this year] ...was. Was young then.

[To anyone else he might've gotten defensive or left it at that. As is, however...]

You know I never really thought that hard about the future. I guess I just... wanted to be special. What I did didn't really matter to me so long as it was fulfilling.

That... it actually sounds a nice way to live.

...Thanks. [...Jeez blushing- now if only it was practical. He knows he can't do that, not forever. His family isn't anywhere near wealthy enough for him to afford that for one]

[...For which game he finds himself wondering but eventually he nods] Yeah, your turn.

Sometimes, I wonder if I would have become a doctor too if my parents had lived. Instead after they left I stayed with my grandmother. She was the first one to teach me how to work with automail. Although I didn't take a serious interest in it until I was ten or eleven.

[And he... really isn't paying much attention anymore. He just moves a pawn at random as he nods] Yeah, well... my dad's an office worker. No way I wanna do that.

Mm, I don't think you'd fit well in an office either. You'd be a great motivational speaker, though.

[He might not be paying much attention, but he also doesn't want to lose. He moves a pawn in the way in such a fashion that if taken another pawn can take the bishop next turn]

Motivational speaker, huh? Sounds kinda lame.

Sounds to me better than some other things.

Yeah, well... I guess. Maybe I could hop a boat to America and join the CIA.
