[Well, as some of you might recall, Haruki Suzumiya has been MIA for the better part of this whole affair so far. But now, finally, he's made a full recovery. A full recovery and... he's gone back to his house to confirm that things have recovered. He's inspecting it inside and out so you might happen across him during that, particularly if you're Neku or Shiki.

But aside from that, after he's half-way through this inspection he flips open the journal and-]

Oi, guys, I'm back. [...It's useless to say "did he miss anything" right? Just glancing at the entries while he was out shows he did] So everyone report in.

[So his child was barely minutes old when Keiichi got sucked to this little hell, but he has parental instinct. And in fact he likes to think of his time here (where the amount of children or teenagers is quite high, mind you) as training for when dealing with his real kid. Not to mention that Haruki just somehow pulls his strings that way.]

[He's angry. Really, how can this guy just be so careless? He hit his head, thinks he's remembering things funny and he says he's fine?]

[Maebara isn't a name he has used in years, it's as hearing Reina being called Rena. He is shocked... But this is Luceti, right? It's not as if they could be found. In fact they will never be found, the Sonozaki family won't track them down, what for? Mion and the others... All of them died in the Hinamizawa disaster.

But where the heck did Haruki learn that name?]

Maebara? You getting me confused with someone else? [He manages to sound amused though still worried.]

[There's a humming noise as an answer... Before Keiichi gets up and makes his way to the house. He has to check this personally.]

[SHIIIT. Okay Haruki, taking that silence as confirmation decides to scramble to get outside to meet Keiichi. He was out of the house anyway (it collapsed the other week, after all) so... yeah. He'll be sitting on the porch by the time Keiichi arrives. He hopes]

[Keiichi arrives, in all his 23 years old glory, to see him sitting on the porch. A cigarette on his lips as he eyes the "kid" with a serious look, checking him for any injuries.]

[Mostly said to distract from the fact that he's looking at Haruki like a father looks their child after they find him with the mouth dirty with chocolate while denying having eaten chocolate behind their backs.]

[But you're only five years older!! ...Even so Haruki feels cow-tailed somehow because this tone and this man give me the heebies of something... annoyingly familiar. Well. Err-]

[He's still your senior. ~~And actually old enough and from the proper year to be your father~~ and he has strong paternal instincts kicking around. Not his fault, he got sucked here right after Reina gave birth to their child. He found himself in Luceti wondering where the heck the baby he had been holding a second ago was. And Haruki reminds him of himself, and was close enough to the Reina here for Keiichi to decide to adopt him mentally (which he also kind of did with any teenager-child he talked to while in Luceti).

So yeah, him being all fatherly? Completely logical. So don't move while he moves closer and touches your forehead to check for the temperature.]

Hn, doesn't seem like you have fever. Is the remembering things funny the only problem you have?

[You better be sincere. Or really good at convincing him or you'll be at the clinic in no time.]

[...WHAAAAAT but okay, okay. He doesn't resist this because resisting too much might be suspicious, right?! But he nods. Nods sagely]

Yeah. Just little stuff, I guess. [...Uh.] Nothing big, I mean.

[Suspicious and not welcomed at all. Keiichi is still looking at him as if he just caught him with the hands in the cookie jar.]

You know, for a guy who worries so much about the well being of his friends, you don't seem to worry that much about yours. Hits to the head can be serious, go to the clinic or get someone to heal you, just in case.

[At least he seems to be stepping down a bit?]

I was at the temp clinic in the barracks all of last week. I don't need more of that...

Don't give me that, kid. You need more of that and anything else so long as you aren't completely fine.

[...this conversation makes him feel like he can hear things in his head. It's weirding him out. Weird magic]

It's not about approval, you idiot. But if you really care about the Brigade and your friends, keeping yourself fine and well also helps to keep us fine. Ever stop to wonder what would happen if something serious happened to you? There are people who would die from worry, literally.

[~~And don't talk back to your father when he tells you to do something~~. He may or may not be included in the 'die from worry' part, though he may as well start by killing from worry first if the syndrome kicks in.

He sighs and sits besides him. No, he doesn't need permission.]

Oi, cheer up, everything will soon be back to normal for good or bad. This can't be the worst we have lived here, can it?

[Well, that depends on the point of view used.]
