SOS-Brigade Relationships
FullMetal Alchemist: ■■■■■■□□□□ ( ••• / ♥♥♥ / ◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane (Alchemy accepted as a reality)] Despite all their time together, Al and Haruki have never gotten as close as he has with many other people in the Brigade. The reason for this is simple: for much of the time they have had together HAruki has written him off as a tag-on. He was Usagi's boyfriend, then he was that guy he tries to get in a dress, and then he was that guy can do do alchemy. Only after knowing the boy for over a year has Haruki opted to start to try to know Al for being Al. The result is that he is belatedly starting to like and appreciate the other boy, but it'll take some time yet.
Bloody Roar: [Bad username or site: kenpo_kitty title= @ livejournal.com] ■■■■■■□□□□ ( •••• / ♥♥♥ / ◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane (Zoanthropes accepted as a reality)] Uriko has long been a member of the Brigade and for almost as long as their relationship been strained for one reason or another. Most notably is that after Kyonko left, Uriko confessed to him. Unsure how to handle it at all, Haruki opted to ignore it, and in doing so tended to ignore her more than he probably should have. While that issue is now resolved (namely in the form of him now being convinced she "went lesbian"), the memory marks much of his opinions on Uriko. Not to say he doesn't like her - far from it - she is a loyal and valued member of his Brigade, perhaps even a friend. However, he will always think of her more as that girl who confessed to him once than as, say, a werecat.
Digimon Adventure: [Bad username or site: goggle_syndrome title= @ livejournal.com] ■■■■■■■□□□ ( •••• / / ) [Real; Mundane (Digimon accepted as a reality)] Taichi is a younger boy that Haruki sees a lot - perhaps too much - of himself in. Because of that, over time, he's become less of a normal Brigade member and more of a protégé; he seems to be training the boy to be him at this point... or at least, a superior version of himself. He is aware Taichi is genuinely nicer and less depressed about various subjects than he himself is. Perhaps, in time, he'll hand over the mantle of the SOS-Brigade to him, but he doesn't plan on that any time soon (even if Taichi is the only one he can dream of doing that to). For now, he's just content to have a good time with the kid and to monitor his growth as Taichi starts to become a proper teenager.
Devil Survivor: ■■■■■■■■□□ ( ••••• / ♥♥♥ / ◊◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane (considered to be a self-insert in an unreal world)] Yoohoo, Haruki's secretary, trusted friend, and the bearer of one of his more awkward relationships. Since they had a moment of sorts back at the Halloween Ball things have been odd between them, even if there is no question she is one of his most trusted friends in the Brigade. He's unsure what to think about her emotionally, and while he's positive that he's never even crushed on her, he's less sure about she in relation to him. Probably as a result of Uriko's confession, a part of him dreads that his suspicions might have some merit in fact but... either way, he pushes them back. The fact is that Yoohoo is someone that he depends on and against all odds is someone that he likes and enjoys the company of almost always. That's too valuable to let go of under any circumstances. Despite this, it is possible that he strained their relationship a bit while he was Haruhi inn the AU event. While he still doesn't consider what he did all that wrong, Yuzu took the
Strawberry Marshmallow: [Bad username or site: im_the_cute_one title= @ livejournal.com] ■■■■■■□□□□ ( •••• / ♥ / ◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane] Miu is in a big way very similar to Taichi in Haruki's mind: someone that he needs to coach and look after, but at the same time he can more or less see as an equal and will treat as such. However, unlike the other boy who is something of Haruki's successor, Miu is more akin to a little sister. Yes, he knows she can be a bitch and yes, he knows that he has been the butt of her jokes numerous times, but he's not sure he cares because all the while he's been working with a (notably cute) young girl who is also intelligent and capable of pulling off schemes that he has known no one but himself to be able to handle at her age. Really, he's proud of her, all things considered. In addition to this Haruki has made a promise to himself that he's going to make and idol if she wants to be an idol. This is half for Brigade popularity, but honestly it is largely because of the fact he wants to ensure that this girl who he values the companionship of will be happy. He's been a little haphazard about it, he knows, but such things as throwing her a birthday party complete with a stage are steps in the right direction, at least.
Star Ocean: Blue Sphere: ■■■■■■■■■■ ( ••••• / ♥ / ◊ ) [Real; Mundane (Aliens accepted as a reality)] Leon has left Haruki in Luceti more than anyone else, but he's also come back more than anyone else, always remembering. Because of this, Haruki is always able to pick up right where they left off... more or less. He hasn't known Leon point for point as long as he has other Brigadiers who were there in the beginning, but he feels like he has and that's what really counts for him. Leon was the first to know (as far as Haruki knows) about him being "God," and even if he would have wished for other circumstances, at this time he's now okay with it. Really, while Leon might bug him sometimes and while Haruki isn't an open person at all Leon is someone that Haruki feels he can trust with everything that he is. Honestly, he depends on the younger man to support him both in practical situations and in emotional ones. Nowhere was this made more clear than the Closed Space: while others might have helped by arguing or by telling him the foolishness of his actions, it was Leon who forced him to give it up. It was Leon who he hugged and cried into at the end. While part of him still resents the young scientist for forcing him to give up on that wonderful dream, he knows in the end he was right and so is thankful for him.
Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne: [Bad username or site: denyingreasons title= @ livejournal.com] ■■■■■□□□□□ ( ••• / / ◊◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane] Naoki, the strongest in the Brigade, a friend of sorts, and someone that makes Haruki worry far more than the chief would ever like to. Naoki seems to be a magnet for getting himself into all kinda of trouble, and Haruki is also painfully aware of how low on the demi-fiend's personal totem him or his Brigade is. It's extremely frustrating for Haruki to know this about any of his members, but also sees no point in pressuring the guy to stop doing what he's doing beyond trying to make sure he doesn't get hurt more than he already does. This is probably to ensure Naoki's happiness, but also because he doesn't want to risk the argument that might ensue.
■■■■■■□□□□ ( ••• / ♥♥ / ◊◊ ) [Real; Mundane] Recruited into the Brigade on a whim, Mikage rapidly become an easy - if trying, emotionally - friend for Haruki as they spoke more because of that. Mikage is flippant, confident, and happy; and while Haruki can be all of those things his moods are much more mercurial than the seemingly stable blonde. Haruki can't say he dislikes Mikage at all, but he can say that the teen's positive outlook sometimes gets on his nerves. In the end though... he is a valued companion and in the Brigade a loyal and not insignificant member. Even if he won't put on dresses.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: [Bad username or site: breaks_destiny title= @ livejournal.com] ■■■■■■■■□□ ( •••• / / ◊◊◊ ) [Real; Scary] Keiichi has rapidly grown into a friend for Haruki, but even as he's done that Haruki finds it impossible to forget the origins of the boy and why he resented him in the first place. This is probably why he'll rip into him any chance he gets: calling him a lolicon or gay, calling him an idiot, pointing out he's from the boondocks... Really, the list goes on and on. Circumstances have forced him to trust the guy and keep him around closer than he might other friends he's known as long as Keiichi, producing a queer relationship in which Haruki hasn't opened up much to him, but Keiichi has opened a lot of himself to Haruki. It's further compounded by the fact that, despite the reason of it, Haruki considers himself responsible for the people from Hinamizawa. Rika told him everything she knew (or so he believes), and Hanyuu imparted her faith in him. To live up to both of those expectations as well as to the feelings of love he (probably) held for Rena, Keiichi's become the poster-child of misplaced warm sentiment. Really, Haruki isn't sure he'd like the guy if not for those details, but he's also okay with this, but because what is, is. Even if many details of who Keiichi is annoy him, he is starting to get used to this honest and frankly dependable teenager who got forced into his life. As a side note, due to where in time Keiichi is from coupled with his personality, Haruki's been feeling some weird deja vu from him. It was only made worse when he met an AU older version of Keiichi during the AU event; you can read about it here. However, all of this was almost destroyed because of a falling out they had. Very recently Keiichi and Haruki have gotten in a lasting argument of sorts about the arrival of a new and unfamiliar Rena Haruki didn't want anything to do with. Keiichi knew he had to side with his beloved Rena, so the two boys have yet to reconcile. Their relationship is strained because of it.
Original Character: ■■■■□□□□□□ ( •• / ♥ / ◊ ) [Unreal] Katie, Garnet, really the name Haruki picked for this curious young girl has ended up largely irrelevant as time went on. While most members of his Brigade in Luceti have operated outside of what he orders or expects them to do, Katie has time and again taken the freedom one step further to the point that Haruki's not even confident he understands all of what she's doing. ...He's also not sure it matters. Despite her apparent youth he can't help but feel she's stronger than one would expect in a lot of ways. He does sincerely like Katie though, to make that understood.

X-Men Evolution: [Bad username or site: onebluebamf title= @ livejournal.com] ■■□□□□□□□□ ( • / ♥ / ◊ ) [Unreal] Well he can teleport and he was able to be tricked into the Brigade. That's two points for him and one strike against all at once. Kurt isn't someone Haruki yet knows well enough to have a developed opinion on but he does know that he has useful talents despite a seemingly flippant attitude and he is a member of the SOS-Brigade. Because of this, if he's in a pinch he'll help the guy out but if he isn't he does fully expect the guy to obey his orders. Only time will tell how good of friends the two will end up becoming in spite of or perhaps because of that.
