Well it's the same idea. They take lots and lots of pictures and the TV is showing us those pictures so fast it looks like it's moving.

Writing is neutral and easily ignored if you wanted to.

[Don't bring in the "a man should know better", Haruki. A man should also know better than to act like a spoiled kid when his "toy" gets replaced by one exactly the same except that it lacks the bite marks he gave the firs one. He isn't here to fight.]
